About me

Ben Matthews studied Classical and Traditional Cello performance at Leeds Conservatoire, he now works as a performer, educator and music therapy trainee. Ben is passionate about bowed strings, particularly the 'cello. He loves to scroll-sing, a term coined by researching singers who accompany themselves with bowed stringed instruments. Ben works in community music, special educational needs and instrument tuition and has enjoyed working in various settings nationally. Ben enjoys music of all sorts, with a preference to Classical and Folk music, his practice blends the techniques, approaches and nuances of many genres to create a unique sound world.
